Tarureka Homestead is a two-storey country house built in 1870, with wrap-around verandahs , seven double bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large modern kitchen. It is set in four acres of gardens, including formal rose gardens, historic trees, private glades, a lawn tennis court and croquet and petanque areas. There are barbecue facilities on the sunny deck. The Homestead has recently been refurbished and is centrally heated. It sleeps 18 guests.

Fifty minutes drive from Wellington, Tarureka Estate is a few minutes out of Featherston and close to the vineyards and restaurants of Martinborough, the historic village of Greytown and Tauherenikau race course. Featherston itself is a charming, historic town with top class eateries and cafes.
