The Loft
The sensitively restored historic barn “The Loft” is the perfect setting for your country wedding, with a chapel/banquet area upstairs and bar and dance floor downstairs. The Loft can accommodate 120 guests for a sit-down banquet and wood-fired heating makes it ideal for winter as well as summer weddings. The Loft comes with a fully-equipped commercial kitchen. Our caterers are Guten Appetit and Zane Saba . The bar is fully equipped and our licence is BYO. The dance area can accommodate a live band, a DJ or ‘juke box’ music (see our ‘useful links’ page for hire details. The Loft is licensed to serve alcohol and play live music until midnight. The venue is closed at 12.30 am. You can also choose to hold your wedding ceremony outdoors in the ‘wedding glade’, on a soft green lawn, surrounded by historic trees and native birds or on the spacious lawn tennis court.
Next Day Brunch
Guten Appetit will provide a delicious next day brunch in the Loft or in the Homestead or you can cater your next day event yourself from the Homestead. Our top class local establishments The Tin Hut or The Royal Hotel are open all weekend if you feel like a change of scenery.
Honeymoon Villa
We are linked to a totally private, delicious honeymoon retreat just 3 minutes drive from Tarureka. Situated in a secluded olive grove, In The Grove offers a luxurious getaway option for the wedding couple or up to four of their guests.
Guest Accommodation
Tarureka Homestead is a classic country two storey house with wrap around verandahs, offering seven double bedrooms, bathrooms and a modern kitchen. Tarureka Cottage can accommodate six guests. The Homestead has recently been sensitively refurbished and is centrally heated.
A beautiful bride’s room, overlooking the Tarureka gardens, is available in the homestead for pre-wedding dressing and photographs.

Wedding Weekends
We offer inclusive packages to enable you to hold your wedding over a whole weekend in one stunning venue, from Friday afternoon until Sunday evening, with accommodation in the homestead and cottage for 22 guests. You can then enjoy the entire estate for your wedding, hold a ‘next day’ event, and provide accommodation for your guests.
