Tarureka Homestead is a two-storey country house built in 1870, with wrap-around verandahs , seven double bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large modern kitchen. It is set in four acres of gardens, including formal rose gardens, historic trees, private glades, a lawn tennis court and croquet and petanque areas. There are barbecue facilities on the sunny deck.
