Tarureka Homestead is a beautiful, extensive, historic two-storey country house built in 1870, with wrap-around verandahs, seven double bedrooms and a large modern kitchen. It is set in four acres of gardens, including formal rose gardens, with historic trees, private glades, a wedding grove and large tennis lawn as well as croquet and petanque areas. There are barbecue facilities on the sunny deck for a Friday night get together or next-day brunch. The Homestead has been refurbished and is centrally heated. It sleeps 18 guests. Tarureka Cottage, which sleeps 6 guests, is the perfect hideaway where the bride and her entourage can stay and get ready. Set in its own private garden with roses and doves, it is secluded from the rest of the wedding party. The cottage has a modern kitchen, large bathroom and 3 double bedrooms.
